“Hullo, I would like a photo of you in your cap and gown, grinning, please. If such a picture exists, anyway,” wrote Maya.
Yes, Maya, they do, thanks to Gabriel, Maggie, and Rachael Seluga:

Congratulations (on all the grinning)! I think I was a few people ahead of you, and my friends said I walked so fast across the stage they almost couldn’t get a picture of the moment. Do you start you graduate work in the fall?

Oh, I’m sorry I didn’t get to meet you. I was wondering if I’d see you there.
Yeah, I’m starting the Couples and Family Therapy program in the fall. I’m pretty excited about it. How about you?

Carrie (Williamson) and I were wanting to get a bunch of the psychology folks together for one night–who knows if it will happen–but maybe we could meet then?
I just applied for a mentoring position here in Salem, working with kids aged 8-18 in the foster care system who are considered “troubled.” I’m excited and a little nervous, probably because I’m going to get cussed out a lot, but I think I have a lot to offer.

Very cool, Emily. I bet you do have a lot to offer. Great idea!
Let me know about a psych night. I would definitely go.

Nathen in a cap and gown..not to mention a tie. What a great thing. I am so proud of you. Congrats!

Did I ever wear a tie in the Bay Area? I can’t remember if I even had one. Too bad. We should have dressed up to go out to Grand Lake or something one night.

I think you wore a black thin tie once. Maybe for that wedding we went to in JT.
